Together, we will explore how Nonviolent Communication can empower youth to navigate life’s ups and downs – from the joys through to the challenges, peacefully and constructively. Discover strategies for supporting youth in conflict resolution that promotes empathy, understanding, and cooperation, ultimately helping them thrive in their home lives, schooling, friendships, and in the wider world.
Workshop with Gabriele Grunt on Saturday November 18th 2023
STOP IT!!! NOW!!! Communicating my limits in a (more) connective way
In our everyday life and work with children/teenagers there are many situations, where we do not enjoy their behaviour.
In this workshop we will explore how to communicate in a way that contributes to strategies we both enjoy more.
We will work on being a role model for a leadership with strength and authority without being authoritarian: strong, clear and taking everyone's needs into account
With examples from your everyday life we will practise to speak from ourselves strongly in a way that makes it easy for children/teenagers to understand and cooperate from meaning and inner motivation.
Why a fundraising event?
At the heart of hosting this event is the hope that through shared and collective dialogue and learning, we can connect and support youth in our societies more closely. To support them in thriving. To support them in enriching their lives through greater connection to needs such as safety, learning, connection, authenticity, and inclusion. The event is also aimed at supporting the construction of the NVC School Rusinga, Kenya, and the youth and families of Rusinga.
Background To Our Cause
A dream for many, the NVC School in Rusinga is now taking shape. The school will be for students from 11 to 18 years of age. It will offer multiple learning environments. Of course, students will learn the secondary school curriculum subjects, however, besides this and arguably as important, they will be introduced to the Nonviolent Communication modality, which will help them to communicate and cooperate in a way that respects equality and connection. This supports the learners to make changes and build their own futures: peaceful, independent, self-supportive, and sustainable.
